Organize Your Life

At a recent Hay House writer's workshop, in a room of 600 people, I was blessed to 'happen' to sit next to Claire McFee of Organize Your Life.

If you are a busy, multifaceted, multifunctioning modern person (find me one who isn't) the Organize Your Life system may well be a real support for you. Claire has thought of everything: Organizers include Self, Home, Money and Family. Each of these Organizers creates a space for you to consider and record everything from your bank account details and tax records, your holiday plans and sports commitments, to your dream diary and personal goals! Each is a digital document that you can write in and leave in electronic format, or print out for a folder or to stick on the fridge. Claire's organizers include lots of tips for getting your life together, and there is also a newsletter you can sign up to for more great ideas.

The Organizers will take you a little effort to get set up as you'll be entering a lot of detail to get started. But once it's done, it's done! And like anything – the beauty is in the using – once you are using the Organizers you'll have all your information and plans and obligations, responsibilities, ideas, dreams, goals … all together and readily accessible. So rather than search through 20 different books and folders and documents and bits of paper with important dates and notes, you'll have it all together. And rather than losing sight of your treasured goals, ideas and projects, you'll have a reminder right here. Relax with Scents – relaxation CD and aroma therapy

Rhonda is a delight. I was honoured to meet her and experience her vibrant energy. Rhonda is small in stature and big in personality. She has an abundant, loving enthusiasm and an ability to find the bubbling infectious laughter in the everyday.  Rhonda herself is a rich and interesting person, known as the Lavender Lady for many years she grew 68 varieties of Lavender at her Nursery in Oregon USA and travelled the world educating Lavender farmers. In recent years Rhonda ran an Aromatherapy practice in Bombala NSW, and she still travels to Bombala work out of the Hospital. Presently she is the Manager of the ‘Cuppacumbalong’ gardens in Tharwa, ACT. She maintains this alongside her Aromatherapy practice. Rhonda also facilitates retreats and Aroma Journeys, and does Aroma Therapy training.

 

I must admit, when I heard Rhonda had a relaxation CD, I did wonder – to me, the relaxation Rhonda offered was the release of companionship and pleasure and shared laughter that could border on the downright rowdy! How, I wondered, would this translate to a meditation?

 

Well, let me tell you, how wrong could I be? I have many, many relaxation CDs, DVDs, mp3s – you name it – and this has become a favourite. In the CD, Rhonda’s voice is soothing and light, her North West American accent soft and lifting as she guides us through a clearing and healing. Rhonda brings us into a relaxed state and uses the metaphor of growing roots from our feet, deep into the earth to tap into the earth’s abundant strong energy and absorbing it through every part of our body and then bringing a sparkling light energy through the top of our heads to bring peace, tranquillity and relaxation into our lives.

 

Rhonda commissioned Claus Zimmer a Music composer from Austria to compose music for this journey. Claus’ music is an integral part of the journey, weaving gently through Rhonda’s words and then at times guiding and supporting us with the music alone.

 

A feature of this CD package is a vial of essential oil. Rhonda has mixed Kunzea and Lavender to support the healing journey the music and guided meditation offers. Kunzea to release tightly held tension and emotional pain and Lavender to bring clarity out of chaos, helping us feel nurtured and loved and find a calm composure. On the physical plane, Lavender relieves headaches and tension too.

 

This is more than a CD, Rhonda D Whetham takes us on an Aroma Journey through music, guided meditation and essential oils. If you are fairly new to meditation Rhonda will guide you in one of the prime techniques of body scan and if you are an experienced meditator you may well, like me, find Rhonda’s guidance supportive and renewing.

SoulCollage^®

 

 

I just happen to love inspiration and oracle card decks – I think I have upwards of 15 different packs. These days, I’ll choose a deck from the shelf and pull a card on a whim – for a spark of inspiration, uplift, centring, support or guidance. I love the little sparkle in the eye of friends and visitors when they discover my shelf of cards too, and they pick a deck that appeals and dwell awhile with the cards.

 

People use these cards in all sorts of different ways – as their inclination, need or impulse guides them – and it’s wonderful to see the different responses. There’s been a ‘pish tosh’ or two over the years too – and that’s fine as well.

 

So – I was delighted to find SoulCollage^®. I had the opportunity to spend half a day with Simone de Haas, learning to make my own personal deck of wisdom cards and then learning to consult them.

 

There were perhaps 12 or 15 of us and we learnt to create our own beautiful cards by selecting images, cutting them out and pasting them onto pieces of blank card.

 

A particular joy of the workshop was the reflective peace that settled over us as we quietly worked, each on our own separate cards, but side by side and together. Reflective moments and conversations flowed in a lovely natural rhythm as participants felt gently moved to share or question. After a time Simone drew us together in a group to demonstrate some ways of reading the cards and in pairs and small groups we used our own cards to process and reflect.

Of course, I did not make a whole deck in just half a day, but the process is underway and I can return to it anytime I feel a creative and reflective moment. So, one by one, my own SoulCollage^® deck is growing to join the many on the shelf.
